8.04.2 release includes updated server and desktop features


LONDON, January 27, 2009: Canonical Ltd, the commercial sponsor for Ubuntu, announced today an update for the Long Term Support (LTS) release of Ubuntu 8.04 – including more than 200 updates for security, added stability and compatibility. Long Term Support releases offer businesses, individuals and the ecosystem around Ubuntu a stable platform on which to build multi-year initiatives. aria2 is a utility for downloading files. The supported protocols are HTTP(S), FTP, BitTorrent (DHT, PEX, MSE/PE), and Metalink. It can download a file from multiple sources/protocols and tries to utilize your maximum download bandwidth.
